I make my home in Hendo, which is good if you enjoy the company of old people, and I do so it works out nicely. I spend my working days watching over fruit and vegetables up the road at the Ingles. I have acquierd a vast knowledge of the edible over the years so if you have a question about that carrot growing hair or that potato with butt cheeks let me know.

Church Interests:
I like to meet all kinds; young, old, successful, downtrodden, brilliant, burnt-out, lucky and lonely. I feel like everyone is a peice of a mirror that helps us to see ourselves. If you don't believe me look a little closer or dig a little deeper at that person you don't like or that dude you have absolutely nothing in common with.
Mom, MLK, Thomas Jefferson, Billy Graham, and my angle; yes I actually have an angle and no not necessarily in this order.
I like anything active. I like sports. I don't think I have played a sport that hasn't challenged me physically and/or mentally in some way. I only have the time to commit myself to a few at any given time though, so the ones that I try to keep up with are softball, basketball, and snowboarding. I like it all though; swimming, or just being in the water, water skiing, tennis, raquet ball, billards, table tennis, soccer, darts, bowling or just teach me something new. I really enjoy just being outside too. I don't enjoy hunting or fishing anymore (used to do some of that as a kid), but hiking, backpacking, camping, boating, free-climbing.
When I'm not doing something "actve" I tend to my garden or read books and every once in a while I'll decide that I'm going to work on "My Book" (pending title), but everything I write is a buch of crap so I get that stupid idea out of my head for a while until I start thinking I have good ideas again and start the process of reminding myself I can't
write all over again.
I'm also facinated by computer technology, modern science, and world events. I'm not very knowledgeable about any subject in particular but the world we live in, and are coming into, is incredibly entertaining to watch unfold.
I enjoy all types of music. Well... let me take that back. I CAN'T STAND popular country music. I don't mean to offend anyone. Maybe I was traumatized as a child? Other than that I can appreciate a wide range. I never listen to any single artist or type of music for too long. I like to change it up and listen to new music as often as I can get my hands (or ears) on it. If I listen to the radio it is almost always on WNCW. I like to think that I'm open to anything but I'm most drawn to highly emotionally charged music.
How can anyone say they have a favorite? I guess I kind of see my taste in movies being similar to my taste in music. Being variety. I like movies that are hard to watch (not talking about horror here). I like movies that are made to be challenging for the audience. I like Akira Kurosawa's (the famous Japanese director) movies and I llke historical movies "Letters from Iwo Jima" and "Invicible" are two that I have enjoyed recently. I like funny movies with a good heart like "Nacho Libre" and "Kung Fu Hustle". And this might sound a little wierd but I like animation like "The Sword in the Stone", "Pinnochio", "Alladin", and "The Last Unicorn". I thought that the "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy was just about as good of an adaption that could have been done. I like Humphry Bogart and I like Charlie Chaplin.
Don't watch TV much. If I do it's "The Colbert Report" (sorry Republicans and people with sticks in uncomfortable places), he's brilliant, C-SPAN, or a baseball game. GO BRAVES!
I read alot. The written word was on the top of my list for best invention ever until the internet came along. Always a book or two on the porch, study bible open on a table, usually one on the coffee table and always one in the bathroom. I used to read fiiction in my teenage years but then I read "The Dark Tower" by Stephen King, in my opinion it couldn't get any better than that so I put fiction down forever. I like to read historical accounts of the revolutionary period in American history, actually anything historical (Churchill's "History of the English Speaking People" is great). I like reading philosophy; Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer, Marcus Aurelus, The Dialogues of Plato, among others. I also like to read books on/about religion/spiritualality, almost entirely focused these days on Christianity though.
