Quick Bonnaroo report:
BEST SHOW: Tie between The Police and White Stripes. Both were spectacular!
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Flaming Lips. Incredible, over-the-top staging. But poorly paced, with lots of speechmaking and dead air between songs.
BEST PURE STAGE DESIGN: Tool
MAGIC MOMENT: Mavis Staples, godmother of black gospel, singing "The Weight" with the Decembrists.
BEST CELEBRITY SIGHTING: Standing near Elijah Wood in the VIP section of the Ween show.
MOST PEOPLE ON STAGE: Root. Lost count.
OTHER EXCELLENT SHOWS: Spoon, Decembrists, T-Bone Burnett, Pete Yorn.
BIGGEST SHOW SKIPPED FOR SCHEDULE REASONS: Wilco, but I've seen them three times before.
