about Vicki
I have been attending Crossroads Church in Lillington, NC for nearly seven years (August 2001). You will most likely find me Sunday mornings in the nursery during the first service and in the sanctuary during the second service.

Born in Portland, ME and raised in Otisfield, ME. Married Patrick Crowell whom I met at the church I attended while working at my first job in Lewiston Maine. He joined the Air Force (before we were married) and have lived in North Dakota, Southern California, Upstate New York, Southern Illinois, and currently in North Carolina. My husband is currently a Senior Master Sergeant, First Sergeant at Minot AFB North Dakota, while I remain in North Carolina. We have three exceptionally wonderful girls -- Kimberly (who incidentally was born in Minot, ND), Katelyn and Colleen (both born in Southern California). Kim recently graduated from Campbell Univ. and married Matt Lewis. Katelyn will be attending Campbell Univ. fall 2008. Colleen will be living with her dad in ND for the last two years of her high school education, then coming to Campbell Univ. It's sad that my husband and I are apart right now. We miss each other terribly, but this is the way it has to be for now.

Here is a video Pat recently emailed me about him being interviewed on TV about AADD... http://www.kmot.com/News_video.asp?news=17943

More importantly, I accepted Christ as my savior when I was five years old because I wanted to have the same Heavenly Father that the girl in the stories my mom read to me every night had in her life. Christ in my life has changed (and continues to change) my attitude, my behavior, and my thinking into a "mind like Christ." I am an unfinished piece of clay in the potter's hands. I fall short of where I want to be every day (yet still progressing), especially driving to and from work! It's a good thing I don't have a Christian bumper sticker on my car because I would give Christianity a bad name with my driving. It is something I continually have to work on. I am much too competitive when it comes to driving, but I must say it is improving with God's grace and mercy! Anyway, I am a work in progress, thank the Lord! My spiritual gifts lie with encouraging people in their walk with the Lord and helping others. I thirst after righteousness...I crave God in my life.

I enjoy hiking (the view is worth the climb!), tennis, watching hockey, traveling, swimming in my backyard pool. I collect sheep (not live sheep), just the fluffy kind.

FAVORITE QUOTES:
"Staying out of the penalty box will really help." Bobby Orr

"Forget about style, worry about results." Bobby Orr

"I've been a very lucky guy. I played on championship teams. I played for Canada. I've won some awards and I'm very proud of those accomplishments. But I don't think there's anything greater than to come home and to be recognized at home. This is the pinnacle." --Bobby Orr

"All hockey players are bilingual. They know English and profanity." --Gordie Howe

"Nothing will work unless you do." Maya Angelou

"The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.” Maya Angelou

"Preach the gospel, and if necessary, use words." St. Francis Assisi

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by frost.
(Lord of the Rings)

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
(Lord of the Rings)

"This too shall pass." -- my dad (and Confuscious??)
Yikes, too many to list. Hopefully I can figure out how to post a playlist on my LiveKite page.
Yikes again - too many to list - but here's a start -- Far and Away (Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman), Batman (Christian Bale and Katie Holmes), Zorro (Antonio Banderas), Count of Monte Cristo, KIng Arthur (Clive Owen), Sahara, National Treasure (I and II), James Bond (Daniel Craig),
King of Queens, Smallville, Gilmore Girls, Friends, 20/20, Dateline, Bones, CSI Miami.
Anything by Jean Plaidy (http://members.tripod.com/jeanplaidy/id17.htm) who writes historical novels beginning with early England (also writes under the names of Victoria Holt and Philippa Carr). I would like to collect as many of the Plaidy novels as possible (108) of which I have 18 so far. This will make a great retirement hobby. Vance Havner's Day by Day. Piercing the Darkness, This Present Darkness (Frank Peretti)
