Jesus told the people to seek first the kingdom of God. It would, therefore, be appropriate to describe St. Paul's as a community of seekers.
We are a people seeking after God and followers of the Lord Jesus Christ who is Himself the Way to the Father. We are seeking after Truth and we find it in the Word of God, both the Old and New Testament, most powerfully and clearly revealed in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are seeking after Life, which is the offer of God through the sacrifice of His only Son for us and our salvation.
We are a people who are seeking to be disciples of Jesus, conforming our lives to His Word and His Holy Spirit working within us to transform us into the people we were created to become. We are seeking to serve our communities so that His kingdom might be made known and so that His mission of seeking and saving the lost might be continued in our day.
We are a people seeking to worship in Spirit and in Truth. Our worship is both Ancient and Future. We look to the past for those elements of worship that express the faith and worship of the church through the centuries in order that we might connect ourselves with those who have come before and we look also to the present for those expressions of worship that allow us to add our own voice to the ancient chorus. Our worship is centered on the table fellowship of Communion where we come together around the sacrifice of Jesus on our behalf and celebrate both His death on the cross for us and the new life made possible by His resurrection and the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives bringing us to true life in Him.
We are a people seeking to be faithful. Faithful to the past by keeping the faith which has been handed down for over two thousand years. Faithful to the present by sharing the Good News of the Gospel in our day. Faithful to the future by our commitment to the next generation who will continue this work.
