Sorry for the extremely long delay in posting, but I finally uploaded a few photos from my trip. You can find them in the group photo gallery. Although, right now I don't have the exact names of the locations, only the name of the city it's in.
I'm going to be adding some more photos soon and hopefully more information about them.

Friday

So, spring break ended this week and Ms. Sams is back working at Poole Gakuin (which is a junior and senior high girl's school). I'm really enjoying staying here, but I haven't been doing much I could write about. Yesterday I visited the school Ms. Sams and Ms. Robinson work at, and met their two American colleauges Mr. Sweet and Mr. Jolly. (Yes really.) They hadn't begun regular classes yet, but there were still students around for their clubs. I got quite a few "Herros" from them when Mr. Sweet gave me a tour of the school.

I'm leaving this Monday, so I will probably only post once more while I'm here.

Kyoto

Fri, April 4th, 2008 @ 9:44AM

April 2nd we took a 45 minute train trip to the biggest sightseeing city in Japan, during the peak of tourist season and spring break with the cherry blossoms in full bloom. Naturally, it was utter chaos. Very enjoyable chaos, though. We visited Nijo-Jo (Nijo Castle) and Kiyomizu-dera the first day there, and on April 3rd we went to Heian Shrine and Ginkaku-ji. (My favorite was the garden at Heian shrine, all of it's many, many cherry blossom trees were blooming.)

I have a lot of pictures, but I haven't been able to upload any yet, hopefully next week I can post them. (I know pictures are more fun than listening to me blather on and on.)

OIC

I realized I forgot to post something about the church I went to on Sunday. ( It was a little hard because I've been gone 4 days in a row) Anyway, the church Ms. Sams and Ms. Robinson go to is Osaka International Chruch. It wasn't very big, roughly 1/2 the people there were Japanese, and the rest a mix of missionaries and other foreigners. (I cannot spell) The service/music was a lot like Grace Community. The people there were really nice, and luckily for me most of them spoke English when my Japanese failed me.
Okay, sorry for posting everything late, but writing isn't the first thing do after a long day, and I'll be gone again tomorrow.

Kanazawa

Tue, April 1st, 2008 @ 8:02PM

Sorry if I spelled a lot of things wrong:
Yesterday morning we went on a 3 hour train trip to Kanazawa in unfortunatly dreary weather. { It rained, cleared up, rained harder, hailed, then there were large gusts of wind, and rain again. } We walked around Kenrokuen Garden, which is evidently quite well known in Japan. We stayed the night in a fairly nice hotel, and ate some breakfast there. ( Which was a buffet; Ms. Robinson and Ms. Sams ate western food, but I ate rice, fish and vegetables. Yum! ) We then walked around and visited some old houses made into museum-type things, and a silk dying building. On our way back on the train, the sun finally began to shine, and a large rainbow crossed over the mountains we passed. Very scenic, yes? And I didn't just make it up. :)
