but it's just so... long. i gave it a half-hearted shot, after purchasing the hardbound first-edition for $1 at a yard sale. someone convince me to pick it back up. tell me that it will pay off. |

It will totally pay off, Katy!! I picked it up a couple times and tried before I really got into it. The first few chapters are slow. Really try! It definitely picks up a little ways in and gets good and engaging. (Although you might be there by now. Or might have given up for good.) I wish my copy of the book had been $1. |
