Topic: Hiking to the roof top of Africa - Kilimanjaro
Allison Rickman	Original topic created on Wed, April 2nd, 2008 @ 11:48AM Last year I had the incredible opportunity to hike Mt. Kilimanjaro. We had a team of 6 people - we were hiking to raise funding for a village school that our church sponsors. Kilimanjaro is 19,334 ft. It was amazing, difficult, exhausting, exhilarating, and worth every minute. If you ever get the chance - go for it. Here are some pictures from the hike... Hiking through the rain forest at the bottom of the mountain. Dinner time on the mountain. The bathrooms on the mountain were less than desirable. Hope you can hold your breath. The glaciers at the top were incredible... I had never seen anything like this. We made it! 19,334 ft The whole team! Wahoooo! We all made it down after 22 hours of hiking. The last 2 days were the most difficult. But we did it and raised $17,000 for a village school.
