I was re-reading the forum profile and realized that I’ve never answered the questions posed, even to myself. Good questions. These are my today answers. Who are you currently into? Not bands, but songs. “Jackson” by Johnny and June Carter Cash; “Wayfaring Stranger”, “Boulder to Birmingham” by Emmylou Harris; “Love is a Losing Game” by Amy Winehouse; “Political World”, “Everything is Broken” by Bob Dylan; “L.A. Woman” by the Doors. All were very moving for their own reasons. What shows are coming up in your neck of the woods? TOM WAITS … I can’t go … there is no consoling. What's your favorite venue to see a show? Anywhere the band is on the floor. Like Mexican restaurants or houses. Old theatres are great. I prefer the dives but I am good with the extravaganzas, too. What band did you kinda like until you saw them LIVE and now you are infatuated with them and spelling their name in your cheerios? Hmmm. U2, and the Butthole Surfers are the ones that had such a discrepancy between recordings and live shows for me. What band do you want to know more about? Gogol Bordello in a tabloid curious way. But, I would have loved to meet Billie Holiday, Maria Callas, Frank Sinatra, and Carmen Amaya. I wish I could’ve just sat quietly with Thelonious Monk for a while, like five years. What band are you supposed to like, but really don't? I don’t understand the question. There are a lot of bands I don’t like that I’m not supposed to like. What band do you secretly like, but shouldn't? I like a lot of bands that I should like. I tried to answer some of these questions very curmudgeonly, like I imagined J.D. Salinger would.
