about Nathan Clark George

about

It's not easy raising five kids these days... especially in a motor home. But guitarist Nathan Clark George wouldn't have it any other way... or would he? "The good part of traveling as a family is that we have lots of time together," says Nathan. "The hard part is we have lots of time together. Nothing is hidden when you live together in less than 300 square feet. Obviously, we all see both the good and bad, too. But so far it has been a big adventure and it's become part of who we are as a family. We love visiting different parts of the country and seeing friends we made last year. I'm sure we will look back on this season of our lives and realize that this was the time that we really jelled." Nathan Clark George "jells" with audiences too. Named Indie Heaven's Acoustic Artist of the Year for the past two years, Nathan seamlessly blends contemporary folk, AC and finger-style guitar work into one. With self-penned songs like "Don't I Know," which is Nathan's honest declaration of his failings as a parent, to the poignant old hymn, "Not What My Hands Have Done," Nathan draws his audiences in with stellar guitar ability and honest, heart-felt vocals. "All good music, whether it uses lyrics or not, connects with human needs," Nathan says. "We love to find that connection because we were made to be in community and interact in those relationships. Ultimately, I think people respond to music because God created us that way. It is obvious in His Word that music is important to Him, and is meant to be a great gift to mankind." Currently, Nathan is touring across the country and has just released his fifth full-length recording entitled "Rise in the Darkness." His CD, "Slam The Door," was an Independent Music Awards finalist, and his other releases have also received critical acclaim from both peers and fans alike. Even with his accolades, this seminary student turned traveling musician sees his music as simply a vehicle to enjoy the life that he has been given, to help others view themselves through God's lens, and to bring glory to his Creator. "If what I offer in song convicts people and sheds light on both the depth of their sin as well as the depth of God's grace, then the miles spent in the motor home have been worth it . And being able to watch my kids experience childhood so up close and personal is just icing on the cake." ########## Nathan Clark George delivers songs from the Scriptures and life with finesse and authenticity. He has the ability to transform any venue into a living room where the audience is free to explore life's joys and sorrows. Over the last several years, Nathan has presented hundreds of concerts at camps, churches, coffee houses, and homes, where his music is appreciated by both the young and old. He continues to defy the contemporary/traditional distinctions, and crosses generational boundaries with ease. And this is part of the goal - to encourage a multi-generational vision for the family and the Kingdom of Peace through a truly musical presentation of the Scriptures and transparent snapshots of life that are convicting, yet full of hope.
