Doss Church spends way too much time thinking about music, lyrics, tunes, and ultra-white sneakers. He is constantly about the task of writing and re-writing his own songs. He simply cannot leave the stuff alone and thus, nothing is ever truly finished. Without a doubt, Doss is an obsessive lyric writer and tune junkie who deeply enjoys the songwriting process. For instance, last Monday he could NOT for the life of him get the Spoon song, "The Way We Get By" out of his head- so he purchased it from iTunes and then freakishly listened to the thing on "repeat" for over an hour. Unfortunately, despite the noteworthy effort, he did not manage to exorcise that bloody song from his brain and thus, even today, Doss can be heard mumbling the lyrics under his breath while working, showering, making lunch, and typing this outrageous "about us" description. Doss has been writing, producing, and recording music since 1992 and is convinced that "all you have to do to make it as a songwriter is to write the best song anyone has ever heard." True as this may be, as of this morning he's still not pulled it off and much to his wife's dismay, he will not stop trying. BTW- Ladies, if you're dating someone who says they are a songwriter and you think they may be telling you the truth....RUN. Just ask Amber. However, if you've happened upon Doss' music for the first time, give it a try. He may just surprise you, and hopefully in a good way.
